This policy explains what information Naruto Cards (“we”, “us”) collects, why, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible and never sell your data.
Information we collect
- Account data. When you create an account we store your email address, a username, and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email and basic profile information from Google.
- Collection data. Cards you mark as owned, sets you track, and submissions or corrections you send us.
- Analytics data.With your consent, Google Analytics collects usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location (derived from IP), device and browser type. This is only collected after you choose “Accept” in the cookie banner.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use two categories of storage:
- Strictly necessary. Required to keep you signed in and remember your cookie choice. These cannot be turned off as the site would not function without them.
- Analytics (optional). Google Analytics cookies (e.g.
_ga) are set only after you grant consent. No analytics script, request, or cookie is loaded until then.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer. Withdrawing consent removes existing analytics cookies.
How we use your data
- To provide and maintain your account and collection.
- To send essential emails (verification, password reset).
- With consent, to understand how the catalog is used so we can improve it.
Sharing and international transfers
We share data with service providers only as needed to run the site: Google (Analytics and optional Google sign-in) and our email delivery provider. Some of these providers process data outside Canada, including in the United States. We do not sell your personal information.
Data retention
Account and collection data are kept while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics settings.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including Québec's Law 25 and the GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us via the contact page.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above, and we may re-request your cookie consent.
